General Information close-medium-white

If nestable profiles become wet while closely stacked, formation of wet storage stain or ‘white rust’ is possible. To minimise the possibility of inadvertent damage:

  • Inspect deliveries on arrival. If moisture is present, individual sheets should be dried immediately with a clean rag and then stacked and filleted to allow air to circulate and complete the drying process.
  • Well ventilated storage is essential. Always store metal products under cover in clean, well-ventilated buildings.
  • Cross stack or fillet sheets where outside storage is unavoidable and make provision for a fall to allow water to run off.
  • Cover the sheets.

The substrate is hot-dipped Aluminium/Zinc/Magnesium alloy coated steel coil compliant with AS 1397:2011.

Technical Information close-medium-white

UniCote® LUX has been independently laboratory tested to meet AS/NZS2728:2013. Suitable for ISO9223:2012 and Atmospheric Classifications C1 – C3.

UniCote® LUX is a highly durable, patterned paint system that offers superior colour and gloss retention (when compared with standard paint systems). Its hot-dipped Aluminium/Zinc/Magnesium alloy coated substrate is combined with state of the art organic coating systems, and the end result is a UV damage resistant finish, perfect for Australia’s climate.

MATERIAL

Substrate: Hot-dipped Aluminium/ Zinc/ Magnesium alloy coated steel coil. Manufactured to AS 1397:2011.

Coating: Standard pre-treatment chromate conversion coating, corrosion resistant primer, a uniquely formulated extremely durable topcoat and a Shadow Grey backing coat. UniCote® LUX’s typical coating thickness is ~35ums ± 8ums.

Gloss: Due to the nature of the product, standard gloss finish measuring techniques are not applicable.

To ensure appropriate quality products are used in construction, comprehensive specifications from Stramit's relevant Product Technical Manuals should be included in the design documentation, including reference to the UniCote® LUX material.

Installation Information close-medium-white

Installation of UniCote® LUX products uses the same installation details for the equivalent standard Stramit product.

Please refer to the SA HB 39:2015 Installation code for metal roof and wall cladding for correct installation guidelines, particularly in regard to underlays/building papers, penetrations, flashings, fasteners and pitch.

Maintenance Information close-medium-white

The service life is extended by regular washing. A mechanical wash every six months is recommended, more often if contaminants build up. At these times inspect for damage and failing fasteners, and repair these.
